Morrissey
The Rave Eagles Ballroom
Milwaukee, WI

I seriously cannot articulate how excited I am.

Prior to this announcement, there weren’t any concerts to look forward to as of yet for next year. I’m kind of embarrassed that he’ll be playing at The Rave, although it’ll be nice a nice experience for us fans. Even with the renovations, it’s still not the nicest venue in the city - especially backstage from what I hear and after he’s played at The Riverside Theatre the last two times he’s been here. However, I should be able to get much closer to the stage than last time when the majority of the audience was confined to seats. I also wonder who'll be opening this time around.

This works out perfectly for me, since I won’t have class on Friday and I can take the bus if I end up going alone, which is very likely as I plan on getting there very early to get a good spot along with all the other fanatics. (I’m probably preaching to the choir here, but there aren’t too many fans out there that are as crazy as Moz’s.) Let’s hope there won’t be a snowstorm that’ll screw this one up!

i think i understand the mechanics of fan-aticism, if not for "moz," then towards something else hierarchal. i'm an extremely big fan of whitehouse, for instance, and getting to hang out philip best this past autumn was an extraordinary experience.

Yeah, the same goes for me with too many bands/artists, including ones that don't typically have fanatical fans. I just think it's interesting that certain artists (Morrissey, for example) have almost cult-like followings where the majority of the fanbase tends to be on the obsessive side.
