ferrumaeternum: (let them eat crack)
We did it!

For the first time in eight years, I’m proud to say I’m an American and that I was able to help make this historic moment happen. I’m glad to be a Democrat, since the House and Senate now have Democrat majorities, and from a state where the majority also votes in that favor. The entire university erupted in cheers when the west coast states’ votes came in at 10:00, and even my suitemates’ ignorant bitching over McCain’s loss couldn’t bring the mood down. People outside my window are still screaming.

I think it’s funny that the Republicans threaten to leave the country. Where are they going to go? Canada and Europe in general are even more liberal than here, and that's where they say they're going. On that note, I can’t believe all the people around the world that have been watching the election as intensely and care just as much as the Americans, and I can only hope that Obama’s victory will improve our country’s reputation.

I should’ve skipped class and took the bus down to Chicago so I could have seen him speak live because that was one hell of a speech.
