It's been over three weeks since I've been able to open my mailbox here. The sad thing about that is I try to open it every day or so, and I can't. Of course over the summer they had to go and put combinations on them instead of giving us keys like they did last year just to make our lives harder. They're not ones where you pull the lock open once the combination has been entered; they are the kind you have to magically "catch" quickly after entering it in order to open it. Maybe my turning the dial the wrong way at the end is why it won't open. I have too much pride to ask someone at the front desk about it. Since I was able to open it the first time, I know it's not broken and that I'm just retarded.
The only other major event that has occurred in the past week here is the aforementioned yellow towel has mysteriously disappeared from the hall outside my door. Unfortunately, the bookcase is still there, but at least that doesn't pose a direct hazard to my health compared to the towel that was culturing mold and venereal disease(s). Also, one of my suitemates decided she needed two others to come with her to knock on my door and ask me for a couple of notecards. I didn't realize I was that scary.
While I'm making fun of myself, I thought I'd mention today's embarrassment: I feel down flat on my ass in yoga class. Most of the people around me laughed (and so did I). It was while jumping to get my feet five feet apart to do the asana. I landed, slipped, and fell. It probably didn't help that I grabbed a more worn-out mat, but at least now I know to be careful while jumping or bring my own mat so I don't end up doing the splits again with everyone watching.
Tonight was the last episode of Project Runway before the three finalists are selected to make collections that will be shown at New York Fashion Week. I am not very pleased to see that Kenley is still in the competition. Although Suede's design was a bit tame, Kenley's didn't even fit into the genre she was supposed to design for, and this isn't the first time it has happened either. Suede didn't deserve to go. I honestly hope she doesn't get to show at Bryant Park. As much as I love '40s and '50s fashion, she is extremely over-confident in her abilities and gets real defensive whenever anyone gives her constructive criticism, which is downright rude, considering the reputable sources the criticism is coming from. For quite some time, I've been rooting for Jerell. I think he has what it takes to win, and I love his aesthetic overall. I would also be pleased to see Korto and Leanne's collections, hoping they'll make it and Kenley won't. I know I could easily do a Google search on the results, but spoilers are no fun, and I don't really have anything else I'm watching regularly on television.
ETA: I finally figured out that the combination on my mailbox needs to be turned in opposite directions of a normal padlock. I got it to catch so I could open it, but there's so much mail in there that it's stuck. This should be interesting...
