For the first time since I started working, I’ve been given three days off in a row. I go back on Thursday, work Friday, and then I’m done. Today I went to the T.J. Maxx in Germantown (where I will hopefully be working next summer) and ended up buying Bandolino silver gladiator sandals for $20. I swear, I never leave that store without buying something, so you can only imagine how much shit I’ve bought from working there. Soon, the summer shopping spree will end when I’m back in college, but there’s always Thanksgiving and winter breaks.

I’ve promised myself before I go back; I am going to get some art done. I just need to get back into the routine of physically creating, and now I have some divine inspiration for some pieces, so there’s no excuse of not having any motivation. On that note, I decided I am going to discreetly set up an altar in my dorm, as my parents will rarely be there. Naturally, I want to create some things for it, so that’s what I should be doing before I’m thrust into countless hours of uninspired homework. At least I don’t have math to deal with and I’m looking forward to my astronomy and yoga classes.

Speaking of which, the Perseid Meteor Shower will peak tomorrow night and the following. Hopefully I’ll be able to see it if we’re blessed with clear skies. I checked tonight, but I didn’t see anything other than the moon.

The two other things I need to focus on in the next couple weeks are getting supplies together and packing them, and getting a new set of strings for my electric guitar and replacing the two that insufferable imbecile put in the wrong places. I am still trying to formulate a plan for when I will inevitably see him in less than two months, but I haven’t been able to come up with anything that might be successful yet other than just telling him to fuck off.

I got a paid account for this journal today! Once you’ve had one, it’s hard to go back to having no polls, boring comment pages, and hardly any icons.

Children of Bodom are coming back! They’re playing again at The Rave in the beginning of October, and even better news: I don’t have class that evening and not until 11:00 the next morning, and there won’t be exams or final art projects to worry about getting up to finish, so things will hopefully go a little more smoothly this time. I doubt I’ll be able to get on their bus since they’re headlining and it will most likely be parked in the back, but I’m sure the majority of the band will be drunkenly wandering around – especially Roope. Regardless, I can’t wait to see them since they weren’t able to play much at Gigantour. There is only one thing that could put a damper on all of this, and it’s Robbie. I managed to not talk to him for a month and suddenly the other day, he leaves a message on my Facebook wall saying that “we” are definitely going. I told him I would be there, but there are no guarantees I’m going to stick with him. He hasn’t said anything to me since then so I’m hoping he’ll just leave me alone because I want to find some new people to talk to there, preferably their lovely Finnish fans that were there last time. (If you’re wondering what all happened with Robbie and why I decided I can’t be his friend anymore, it’s because he tries to control me, is very immature and ignorant, can’t see women as being humans let alone equal, has jealousy issues, and wants me to be his spiritual mentor which I don’t have the time nor the energy for, among many other things.) Anyway, the point is I’m not going to let him waste any more of my time nor ruin this concert for me. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, but I’ll have to get them after I get home from work. Gigantour didn’t sell out right away, so I’m hoping there will still be plenty of tickets by the time I get back.

Other than that, my life has been very dull, which explains the lack of updates. All I do is work, and go on the computer, hang out with Cat, and sleep when I’m off. There are a few things I’m looking forward to: The Police and Elvis Costello next week as well as German Fest on the same day (denn ich moechte Schwarzwalder Kirschtorte essen), possibly Irish Fest, moving back into Sandburg and getting first semester out of the way because I’m taking a bunch of classes that fulfill general education requirements, the Bodom concert, and then the Study Abroad Fair to see if I can study in Europe with my major. Filippo is here on vacation for a couple weeks, and since he flew in Wednesday and I had to work then and Thursday, Catherine and I ended up going out to lunch to the Olive Garden and then swimming at her grandparents’ house with him today. My work schedule is getting more ridiculous, and it’s really starting to screw with my sleep because it forces me to change my schedule everyday. Some days I work 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM; others 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM and all kinds of crazy shifts in between. Needless to say, I’m tired pretty much all the time. I’m probably going to quit in four weeks so I can actually do some artwork before I go back to college. I’ll need the week off before I move in anyway to get all my stuff together and buy whatever I need for this semester. The good news is I got the room I wanted with the big window, slightly larger space, a view of downtown Milwaukee, and I’m on the fifth floor which will make things a lot easier because all the elevators stop on it.
